Sony

A freelance back-end job in Paris, from August to November 2009. Sony ran a lot of web systems in France, and someone had to know when one of them stopped.

So the work was a monitoring setup — checks across the systems that mattered, so a failure showed up as an alert rather than as a phone call from whoever noticed the site was down. Around it, the ordinary maintenance: find what broke, fix it, keep the thing running.

It is the oldest entry here and the thinnest. Nothing survives from it — no repository, no screenshots, no numbers. What is above is what can still be said accurately, and nothing has been added to make four months in 2009 sound like more than it was.
