Korea for WooCommerce grew the way plugins do. A free base on WordPress.org handles addresses, postcode lookup and Naver integration. Everything a store actually needs to take money came later. The gateways, identity verification, KakaoTalk notifications — they arrived as a dozen separate add-ons. Each had its own repository, release cycle and settings screen.

That is fine for one store. It does not work for a platform. koreakit is the rebuild: one suite, one release, one place to configure it.

Nine domestic gateways — NHN KCP, KG INICIS, NicePay, LG U+, EasyPay, Payco, KakaoPay, NAVER Pay and TossPay. Each is a full integration, not a redirect wrapper: refunds, partial cancellations, escrow where the PG requires it, and the receipt and tax handling Korean merchants must produce. Alongside them: i-PIN and carrier identity verification, PIPA retention and privacy-rights handling with an audit trail, and order messaging through KakaoTalk.

It is modular, so a store installs only the processors it holds contracts for. This is in progress. This entry describes what is being built, not what has shipped.
