The French Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry sits in Gangnam and does what a bilateral chamber does: members, events, publications, and the business of getting French companies into Korea and Korean companies into France.

It is also one chamber in a worldwide network, and the network had decided how its websites would be built — a shared Typo3 platform run by CCI France International, with guidelines every chamber's site had to follow. FKCCI's job was not to design a website. It was to get onto that platform without losing anything.

Which is the work: transferring the content, building and configuring the site architecture inside the Typo3 interface rather than around it, and doing the backend migration and the DNS cutover so the domain moved without a gap. No custom code — deliberately. Anything written to sit outside the platform's guidelines would have been the next person's problem at the next network-wide upgrade.

The chamber still runs on Typo3 on the network's infrastructure today, several redesigns later. The current site is not our design, and the point of the job was that it would not have to be.
