Sandra Meynier Kang needed NAVER Pay at checkout — a Korean shopper expects it as an option, the way one expects Visa. The API behind it is public. Getting a merchant certified to actually take money through it is not.
That runs through NAVER Pay's own merchant integration and security review team, not through documentation alone: credentials issued, a build tested end to end against their sandbox, a security inspection, and a checklist signed off before the switch from test to production. We went through that process directly, the same review any merchant clears before NAVER Pay goes live on their checkout.
What shipped was a full gateway, not a redirect: the checkout method itself, order approval, and the cancellation and partial-refund API beside it. The same shape as the other domestic gateways in this list, and the same logic that carried over when NAVER Pay was rebuilt for Magento on Onitsuka Tiger.
It shipped for SMK first, the same shop KakaoTalk for WooCommerce came out of. It is now one of the nine gateways koreakit brings together into one suite.
