A playtest needs testers, and testers have to be found before they can be invited. This was the front door for that: join playtests from home and earn exclusive rewards, then four steps saying plainly what happens — sign up, receive an invitation, play from where you already play, get rewarded.

The real work is the form, not the page. It is not a plain contact form with a name and a message. It asks what you play on, which genres you actually enjoy, what your favourite games are, your year of birth, and three ranked choices. A playtest is only worth running on the right testers, and that sorting has to happen before anyone is invited, not after.

It was built as a child theme on Wargaming's own parent theme, so the brand's chrome and settings came for free and the site only carried what was specific to this campaign. Dependencies were declared in Composer and the environment ran in wp-env, so what ran was known and could be rebuilt, not just uploaded through a browser — the same care as the ECCK rebuild, applied to something with a much shorter life.

That life is over now: the subdomain no longer resolves. A campaign site did its campaign. For this kind of site, that is a normal ending, not a failure.
